Lida Hagopian

IIn Memoriam

In loving memory of Lida Hagopian, a gem of purest ray serene, an innocent soul, born in the hallowed Old City of Jerusalem, whose footsteps also echoed in the deserts of the Arabian Peninsula, and on the sunswept sidewalks and distant shores of Australia.
fount of undying love

Sydney, Australia - On the night of April 17, 1999 the beautiful

and bold lotus flower, folder her leaves and took final leave of

this vale of tears.

She closed her eyes to this world, and called finis to a brief, desolate existence  during which she knew more pain and suffering than a normal human being would endure in ten lifetimes.     Her suffering had ended.     This was not a fana' (an annihilation), but a baqa' (a sojourn with the Source).     She was a light unto the world, a fount of undying love.     She has gone to join all those blithe spirits that have illuminated this dark planet and helped make life on it more bearable.     Had her Creator, in His infinite mercy, summoned her at last into His blissful presence, after having witnessed her pain?     Had He, in tones at once anguished and full of compassion, looked down upon His beloved daughter and laid His hand upon her head, in all love and gentleness, calling her to His bosom:     "Enough, child of my heart. I can stand your suffering no more. Come home to me. Come home where you belong, among the angels in whose love you shall bask forever. Alas, that the world would not understand you. Alas, that they would not see in you the special spark of my grace, of my love, my mercy and my joy. Of which there is no end. Come home, child, and let me wipe away your tears. Here you shall know nothing but eternal love and joy."         A source of joy and blessing, basking in the glow of quintessential purity and innocence, she has taught us the real meaning of love, compassion and forgiveness.     Every time she is remembered, or her name mentioned, she lives again.     Every time she is remembered, or her name mentioned, she lives again.
